There's nothing that infuriates book-lovers more (myself included) than when an on-screen adaptation leaves plot holes to be picked at.
As is seemingly the case with the newly-released romantic-drama movie It Ends With Us, a cinematic version of US author Coleen Hoover's book of the same name.
Now, as a fan of the original written piece, I was amongst those delighted by the prospect of seeing the heartbreaking best-seller - which touches on sensitive issues, including both domestic and child abuse, as well as love and loss - being given a wider platform of movie watchers.

Sadly, however, it's only been three days since the movie - starring Blake Lively as central character Lily Bloom - took to our screens, and already, many fans of Hoover's novel have complaints.
For those unfamiliar with the plot, both the book and film tell the tale of Lily, a Maine-born woman who overcomes a traumatic childhood to embark on a new life in Boston and chase a lifelong dream of opening her own florist.
Whilst setting up shop, she happens to spark an intense connection with charming neurosurgeon Ryle (played by Justin Baldoni) following a chance meeting, who also happens to be the brother of her floral business partner.

However, as the pair begin to fall deeply in love, Lily begins to see sides of Ryle that remind her of her parents' abusive relationship.
As we say, however, the movie has already come under fire from critics for missing out some vital details, or making mistakes when it comes to plot line.
And today, a TikToker has pointed out a flaw when it comes to filming locations.
Taking to the video-sharing app to share a puzzled looking selfie, they wrote: "me trying to figure out how Ryle's apartment and the flower shop are in boston, but lily was staying with her mom in maine in the beginning.

"and Ryle was able to pop over to lily's moms house before work to build a crib. which is in a different state..."
And by the sounds of things, they may be onto something, being that the total driving distance from Boston to Maine is around 196 miles, making it pretty unfeasible before a day at work as a neurosurgeon...
The criticism comes just days after one viewer shared her views on the allegedly 'appalling' and 'unsettling' marketing of the flick - being that it had been promoted as a romance film, as opposed to an abuse-based drama.

Despite criticism, according to Variety, It Ends With Us has collected a stellar $50 million from 3,611 North American venues in its opening weekend.
The publication reported that: "[The film] took in $30 million internationally for an $80 million global start. It’s a huge win for the movie, which Sony Pictures and Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios co-financed for $25 million."
So really, it's not too shabby at all.
