MAFS UK star Amy issues statement about her ‘behaviour’ as ‘challenging’ episode airs

Both Luke and Amy have taken to Instagram to share their thoughts on the heated homestay episode

Married at First Sight UK star Amy Kenyon has issued an emotional statement about her 'behaviour' after last night's (4 November) 'challenging' episode aired.

Viewers watched on as Luke Debono headed over to Amy's place during homestay week and, needless to say, things didn't go well especially after his 'bloated' comment about her alongside her friends' interrogation of him.

Things came to a peak when Luke actually removed his ring, saying he was now a 'single man' after feeling disrespected over an alleged 'agenda' to 'portray [him] in a certain way'.

Have a look:

The exchange ended with Luke declaring: "The ring's off and it's not coming back on again."

"Well, f**k off then," Amy snapped back. "All you care about is yourself. I could have whipped my wedding ring off and thrown it four weeks ago. F**k off."

She then called him a 'compulsive liar' before instructing him to leave a few more times, saying: "My friends don't want to chat to somebody that's not my husband."

Taking to Instagram, Amy shared a series of snaps from the heated home stay episode alongside a lengthy caption sharing her thoughts on what happened.

She began: "From bad, to worse…

"Tonight’s episode will be a difficult one to watch for me. I’m not proud of my behaviour or of the person I was pushed to become, I might be over reacting writing this but I look back at this person and remember how I lost me."

Explaining that emotions ran 'extremely high' during the home stays, the reality TV star added that 'a lot of tension' was building up at that point 'due to things going on behind the scenes, which unfortunately cannot be disclosed out of respect'.

"When I visited my home, my mum was really down and didn’t want to be part of the filming. This was when she unintentionally hinted at some tough news regarding my brother, which made an already challenging time even harder," she revealed.

"Please be kind when watching, to both myself, Luke, and my amazing friends. Remember that what you see is only a few clips from many hours of filming."

Admitting it was 'hard to see things being portrayed this way', Amy carried on: "But at the end of the day, this is the reality of TV, and it’s what I signed up for.

"I know I’m not demanding, boring, or any of the other things I’ve been called recently by a select few.

"I am a strong woman that knows her worth and doesn’t take s**t, I’m also not an actor and never aspire to be."

Rounding off the post, Amy added: "The people who know me know the real me, and that’s all that matters.

"I hope you enjoy tonight’s episode and watching the rest of mine and Luke’s journey together, we just might surprise you."

Adding a final message to internet 'trolls', she resolved: "Love, kindness, and positivity to you all and to the judgmental trolls that don’t know me, f**k you x."

Speaking of the episode in a separate Instagram post, Luke wrote: "Whatever happens tonight, I strongly urge everyone to show empathy, respect and love with our words and our comments."
