MAFS UK bride Emma Barnes has issued an emotional plea after Caspar Todd's controversial comments on the show.

It's not been an easy ride for Caspar and Emma, who didn't exactly hit it off when they first met at the end of the aisle.

In fact, they suffered a pretty rocky start, with Caspar claiming he didn't find Emma physically attractive when she asked him on their wedding day.

Meanwhile, on their honeymoon, he admitted he didn't fancy his wife.

"So, you didn't fancy me and you don't fancy me - right?" Emma asked him at the time, to which Caspar savagely replied: "Not currently, no, let's be honest."

Emma went on: "If you didn't think I was sexy in my f**king wedding dress and my gorgeous bikini today, I don't know what hope there is."

Although the pair have been working on their marriage on the show ever since, a preview into Tuesday's (8 October) episode hinted that Caspar could have put his foot in it once again.

In the clip, he could be seen telling them over dinner: "I've never fancied curvy women."

While Emma's best friend hangs her head and responds, 'No, no, no, no...', his bride then hits out: "That's poor delivery! You can't say that."

Emma's friend then tells him straight: "That's not a nice thing to say," before another gal pal tells Emma: "Right now, I don't think he's the man for you."

Following the comments, Emma issued an emotional plea to viewers.

Speaking to Bristol Live, she said: "Seeing the public perception, actually, I think, what's been given out is it is an edited show and you have to remember that, like, I think that you can't film and put out every conversation and the whole conversation that you have.

"And I think a lot of what hasn't been shown potentially is the deep dive in the whys and hows and reasons why people say things that they do because otherwise, it would go on for about 60 hours a night, right?

"But if you deep dive that for every couple, Caspar in particular hasn't received good feedback at all."

Emma also defended Caspar and some of the backlash he had received, adding: "And I think that you know, he's a great guy. You know like I do adore Caspar, he's fantastic.

"And no one deserves that, you know. And that can be said about a lot of the challenges we saw a little bit with Polly last week.

"Sometimes the context is taken out of what happens because you can't share that whole conversation, and I don't think it's very fair, of course, that people are receiving that feedback online.

"It's like shocking to read. I can sympathise but I can't empathise because to be fair, I've had so much love and I find it difficult to be able to put my feet in their shoes.

"If they're constantly receiving that torrent of abuse and yeah, it's not great."

MAFS UK continues on Tuesday (8 October) at 9pm on E4.
