MAFS UK’s Sacha opens up on why marriage with Ross was ‘unhappiest she’s ever been’

MAFS UK’s Sacha opens up on why marriage with Ross was ‘unhappiest she’s ever been’

Sacha Jones and Ross McCarthy's relationship ended, but it was for the best

Married At First Sight UK’s Sacha Jones has come out to share why her breakup with ex-hubby with Ross McCarthy was necessary.

Now that the show is over, we’re learning more about more about the couple that everyone had hoped would be able to pull through.

But it wasn’t meant to be.

While Ross went Insta-official with a new partner, Sacha and Ross' relationship was revealed to have ended behind-the-scenes.

Speaking to OK! Magazine following last week's awful 'reunion episode', Sacha has explained her 'dark' time with Ross, which lead to her realising that it wasn’t right for her to continue with the marriage.

She also released a candid Instagram statement, telling fans that it was for her safety.

Initially, the Channel 4 show’s romance appeared to be going well, with a lovely wedding ceremony and honeymoon.

However, the cracks quickly began to show, particularly when Ross didn’t stand up for his wife when she was rowing with co-star Alex Henry.

The pair also disagreed with where they would reside together, as Ross is a single dad with commitments in Manchester, while Sacha is a Walsall lass.

In the end, they chose to live temporarily in Walsall, where things would come to a head.

Sacha stormed out of their final vow renewal ceremony which was over something that happened behind the scenes before confirming the separation later at the reunion.

Sacha lifted the lid on their breakup and her unhappy times in an Instagram post, and fans have sided with her choice.

The Walsall native wrote along with pictures of her and Ross and a video of her popping bubbly: “Annnnnnnd that’s a wrap!! So with my @ok_mag exclusive and Ross’s hard launch, it’s no mystery that we’re no longer together. And although one of us chooses not to acknowledge ever doing the show, i’ll never regret my time on MAFS. I may now be divorced, but i’ll never look back on my experience as a negative one and act like it didn’t happen.”

She went on to add that her ‘life with Ross in Walsall was the unhappiest’ she had ever felt.

Sacha explained: “I truly lost myself and friends said I was a shell of who I was once was. Despite this, I did truly love him and wanted things to work out, so i’d of probs just kept going till there was nothing left of me. Hoping for a never coming change.

“So some thing’s really are a blessing in disguise! I’m just thankful I followed my head and not my heart when it came to moving to Manchester. Trust your intuition girlies. AND ALWAYS PUT YOUR SAFETY FIRST!!! Don’t let anyone ever try to pressure you into following a man if it doesn’t feel right.”

In her magazine interview, she shared that Ross ended things via text before moving on with someone new.

She shared that her friends saw a darker side to Ross' personality and told her she needed to leave the relationship.

However, one incident saw her throwing her on-screen husband out of her family home because his 'anger issues' were getting too much for her to cope with.

She said: "[Friends] said I was constantly zoned out when I saw them. I wasn’t ‘present’.

"One friend said I looked like a ghost. It was a very dark time. A lot of people in these relationships blame themselves, but I was reassured that no, it’s not me."

After she chucked him out, Ross apparently text her: "We’re done, I’m ending it. Don’t text me again please, take care."

So, that’s the end of their chapter.
