Netflix fans who enjoyed dark crime comedy-drama Bodkin are being urged to watch an ‘underrated gem’ that people reckon is a ‘10/10’ flick.
The recent series has been sitting pretty on the Netflix top 10 for a while now, having racked up more than 18 million views in its first week alone.
Set in the Irish coastal town of Bodkin, the show stars former Saturday Night Live cast member Will Forte as American podcaster Gilbert Power and Siobhán Cullen as investigative journalist Dubheasa ‘Dove’ Maloney.

But while viewers are already begging for a second series after rattling through the first one in no time at all, it turns out there’s something else you should watch in the meantime.
One fan put a plea out on Reddit, asking others: “I just watched Bodkin on Netflix, i think it's amazing. Part of me thinking that i greatly enjoyed series who centers on group of people, in a small outskirt town, trying to solve/ find out the mystery lingers within the town.
"Can anyone suggest series that has similar setting with this series?”

Naturally, it didn’t take long for suggestions to come flying in – before one person suggested a little-known Irish flick that has a similarly dark sense of humour.
“Try an Irish film The Guard,” they said, referring to the 2011 comedy-thriller starring The Banshees of Inisherin's Brendan Gleeson, Avengers Endgame's Don Cheadle, Kingsman's Mark Strong and Game of Thrones' Liam Cunningham.
The film follows cop Sgt Gerry Boyle (Gleeson) as he is forced to team up with an FBI agent (Cheadle) to investigate an international cocaine smuggling ring – even though he’s got more interest in a trip to the pub and an evening with a sex worker or two.

Commenting on Facebook a few years back when the trailer was shared by Netflix, many people were singing its praises.
“Such an underrated gem of a movie 10/10 all day long,” one wrote.
Someone else said it was a ‘very good black comedy’, while another commented: “Great film a must watch!”
One other felt it was ‘one of the best films ever’, with another saying it is ‘quite simply brilliant’.
