Us Millennials couldn't be more excited that Selena Gomez is set to reprise her iconic role as Alex Russo in the Wizards of Waverly Place spin-off - but some people aren't sure about the fashion choices.
The reboot, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, is set to air on the 29 October and quite frankly, it feels like the longest wait ever.
Gomez made her name as an actress in the original Waverly Place show, alongside David Henrie as Justin and Jake T. Austin as Max.

The show originally aired between 2007 and 2012, resulting in 106 episodes.
Gomez sang the theme's tune, 'Everything Is Not What It Seems,' which still lives rent-free in my mind.
When it was first announced that Gomez was set to return to her role as Russo, a wizard-in-training, fans were completely thrilled.

Now starring in Only Murders in the Building, Gomez is an Emmy-nominated actress, so it was the perfect nod to her Disney roots.
Now that the first look at the forthcoming series has been revealed though, a few fans have some opinions about the wardrobe choices.
One person wrote on X: "I feel like young Alex Russo would bully and make fun of this Alex Russo for her outfits."
Another said: "Is she holding a purse? ALEX WOULD NEVER!"

While a third theorised: "I'm so happy I'm not the only one who noticed the outfit.
that screams Selena and I love her but it doesn't scream Alex Russo. She would 100% grow up to be a lesbian with a completely different and iconic fashion sense."

Interesting takes.
Meanwhile, others jumped on the defensive.
A fan wrote: "Yes but it’s called maturing... her character would have matured into liking these outfits."
A second added: "Why y'all expecting a 30-year-old woman to dress like a 15-year-old is beyond me."

Gomez's co-star, Henrie, told PEOPLE that reprising his role alongside the actress was 'awesome'.
He added: "It was a dream come true. [Gomez] and I have kept in such good contact and remain good friends.
"She's continued to get more and more mature. She's really settling into herself and her own and really owning her life."
He added that it has been 'wonderful to see her continue to grow into a beautiful woman'.
Speaking to the Associated Press last month, Gomez said it felt 'like a dream' to be working on the project.
She added: "I truly feel like it was the place I started and I'll always be grateful for that time and I just hope that this new chapter can bring a whole new audience joy the same way that we did when we were younger."
