Ever been watching something with your parents, only for a sex scene to come on and it be the most excruciating few minutes of your life?

Well, imagine, if you're one of the people in such a scene, just how cringe something like that would be.

This has been the case for the likes of Sydney Sweeney, whose dad had an extremely awkward reaction after he saw her X-rated role in Euphoria.

The 27-year-old actress has a whole bunch of accolades and impressive roles under her belt, from Anyone but You and Immaculate all the way to The White Lotus.

However, the HBO series was Sydney's break-out role after fans fell in love with her character Cassie Howard.

Euphoria, which first hit our screens back in 2019, boasts a star-studded cast including the likes of Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer, Barbie Ferreira, and Angus Cloud (RIP).

It's become famous for how it handles a number of extremely heavy subject matter including revenge porn, mental illness, drug abuse, and domestic violence.

Cassie's storyline in particular explores infidelity, abortion, and low self-esteem issues brought about as a result of hyper-sexualisation.

The actress previously opened up about her family's reaction to the slightly more risqué subject matters on the programme.

While Sydney's mum was totally aware of the explicit nature of the series, given that she had visited her on set several times, her dad went into the process blissfully unaware of the adult themes.

"My mum visited me on set quite a few times, so she knew the story," she revealed on NBC's Sunday Today last year, before adding with a laugh: "I didn't prepare my dad at all!"

And the awkwardness clearly didn't stop there, as her dad actually threw a viewing party for the show, and guess who else was invited? Her grandparents!

"My dad and my grandpa turned it off and walked out," she admitted.

Now, while her dad and grandad were clearly quite shocked with the content of Euphoria, it's clear that not all of Sydney's relatives were upset by it as her grandma wasn't phased in the slightest.

"My grandma... she's a fan. She's a big supporter," the star added.

"I bring her all over the world to my different sets and I make her an extra."

Season 3 of Euphoria was commissioned back in February 2022, but production faced a number setbacks due to the now-resolved Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strike.

Not to worry, though, as HBO has since confirmed that production for the eagerly-anticipated upcoming season will begin early next year.

A release date is yet to be confirmed.
