The most anticipated film of the year, Wicked, has finally been released into UK cinemas and the luckiest among us have already taken our seats and experienced the magic.
The musical adventure, starring Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, has landed to rave reviews and fans already can't wait for part two.
Wicked tells the story of green-skinned Elphaba who meets Glinda at Shiz University. Elphaba eventually becomes known as the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda reflects upon how the two met and forged an unlikely friendship.

The plot serves as a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, but some Wicked viewers have been left scratching their heads over one of the plot lines.
Taking to Reddit, a user asked: "Helpppp me understand - Is it Dorothy’s Dream?
"I watched Wicked on Friday (and have seen the stage play) and The Wizard of Oz today. I know all of the connections & characters & have been reading a ton about it -- I just don't know how the plot of Wicked ties in with it "all just being a dream" in Dorothy's head? & the Scarecrow being both *** spoiler *** Fiero & Hunk, TinMan being Hickory & Boq?"

In response, it was explained: "The ‘it was all a dream’ ending wasn’t in the actual Wizard of Oz books that Wicked is based on. There are some references to the movie in the book, play, and movie, and technically the Wicked Witch being green isn’t in the books at all either.
"It’s confusing because some parts of Wicked are obviously inspired by the film like much of the other Wizard of Oz adaptations and spin-offs.
"The simplest answer to your question is: that didn’t happen in the books. But the movie definitely did influence a lot of Wicked in all its adaptations."

All of a sudden, it's making a lot more sense.
With Grande and Erivo's performances being praised and tipped to win a series of awards, fans have unearthed an old tweet of Grande's.
All the way back in 2011, she posted on Twitter: "Loved seeing Wicked again... amazing production! Made me realise again how badly I want 2 play Glinda at some point in my life! #DreamRole."
Talk about manifestation.

The tweet was brought up by Jimmy Fallon during Grande's appearance on his talk show on 6 June.
He said: "I found a tweet that you put out in 2011 by the way. You did it!"

Grande responded: "It’s just so surreal to see, of course, the response. You know, this is something that Cynthia and I lived every single day. The brilliant Cynthia Erivo.
"And you know it was ours for so long and it was just every single day for such a long time."
