The chaos of the story can make you feel exhausted just watching it, but Nadine Macaluso, Belfort's ex-wife who was portrayed by Margot Robbie, has revealed that one infamous scene happened in real life too.

Not only this, but she noted that her ex-husband used the 'ultimate form' of 'gaslighting' to make her question gut instincts.
She addressed what happened when she confronted Belfort about him cheating on her, which he of course rebutted.
In the film, the Duchess wakes Belfort up by splashing water in his face.

She then mocks him by suggesting he sounds like an owl, after he repeatedly questioned 'who' she was talking about.
Naomi claimed that the wealthy businessman had been calling her name in his sleep, but Nadine said this very situation occurred in real life too.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a video reflecting on how she felt at the time.

She said: "Oh my god, so that whole entire experience of someone cheating on you, and then when you confront them about that as I did in the movie, and they deny it!
"Not only do they deny it, but they make you out to be the crazy person.
"They say 'oh my god it was Venice in Italy', no it wasn't Venice in Italy, and that is the ultimate form of gaslighting."
