An employee doesn't seem best pleased with their boss' request for staff to donate their paid time off to a sick colleague.
The unnamed CEO sent round a memo to the workforce explaining that the unwell employee had 'exhausted all her paid time off days' after being 'in the hospital and rehab' for a number of months.
The seemingly unhappy staff member has shared the memo on Reddit and users are calling the request 'unprofessional'.

"We have a long-term employee of 17 years from our dietary department who has been in the hospital and rehab for several months," the memo read.
"She has exhausted all her paid time off days, and her benefits are running out.
"As you can imagine, this has been quite the drain on her family's income.
"If there is anyone who would like to donate one or more days of their paid time off, please let [management] know in writing of your intent. Thank you for your consideration."

The disgruntled employee who shared the memo captioned it: "Oh good God, oh my God."
Commenting on the post, one person wrote: "Write a note, I think it would be a great idea for the CEO to donate his time as a symbol of our generosity, the time he donates will be matched collectively by all employees of the company."
Another added: "I've never seen a CEO or manager take a pay hit or paid time off hit to help out an employee."

While someone else penned: "This is so wrong on so many levels. Just give the woman more paid time off."
However, one Redditor actually defended the boss' actions, writing: "A very brief defence of the CEO - if the company approves additional PTO for one employee, HR/legal would make him do it for everyone."
Well on the flip side, last year one boss was praised for sending the ‘perfect email’ to an employee, who shared the message on TikTok.

TikToker Jess (@notjessicasimpson) who posted the video, which quickly went viral, started the clip by joking: “Anxious? Me? Not at all!”
“This is a normal email that every boss sends to their employee.”
Jess then cut to a screenshot of the email her manager sent just after 8am one morning.
It begins with the boss asking Jess to ‘call me when you have the chance’ - which would quite easily scare the life out of anyone.

However, Jess’ boss found a way to immediately put her at ease, telling her that ‘nothing is wrong’, and that they just wanted to find out how her time off had been.
The email continues: “Sounds good. Call me when you have a chance – NOTHING IS WRONG! We haven’t spoken and I wanted to see how your holidays were.
“PLEASE DO NOT READ ANYTHING ELSE INTO THIS REQUEST.”
