An autopsy technician has responded after a TikTok user asked whether he'd remove a tampon from the body of a dead person as part of his job.
Fans of all things morbid and true crime will definitely get a kick out of autopsy technician G Dubya, who goes by the handle @big_led73 on TikTok and offers insights to his job working with the dead.
Autopsy technicians don't work on every single person who passes away, but instead assists the medical examiner or coroner in performing an autopsy when they're needed to determine the cause and manner of death.

Some of the reasons the procedure might be performed are if there is a public health concern, if it's requested by a doctor or the family, or if the person dies unexpectedly or in a suspicious manner.
It's this latter situation which one person focused on when they got in touch with G Dubya recently to raise the question of what happens if someone dies while wearing a tampon.
The TikTok user asked the autopsy tech whether he'd remove the tampon during the autopsy, or just leave it.
In his response, G Dubya confirmed that if someone died unexpectedly while wearing a tampon and their body was sent for an autopsy, he would remove it and throw it away.

"It's a dirty job but somebody has to do it," he explained.
G Dubya explained that 'everything comes out' during an autopsy, meaning the person who died wouldn't have to 'spend eternity with a tampon up there'.
The TikToker said he would note in the autopsy report that the dead person was wearing a tampon, and that he and the medical examiner would work as usual to figure out why they died.

"Hopefully it wasn't because of that tampon," he joked.
G Dubya's explanation provided relief for a lot of viewers, with one person making clear that 'the last thing [their] ghost needs is to be stuck with that', adding: "It would irritate me for EVER."
Another viewer praised the autopsy technician for his work, responding: "It shows that you have the upmost respect for the deceased... I respect you for that... have a great day."
One viewer even said the TikToker's insights to his job help them 'come to grips with [their] own mortality and gain a better comfort level' on the subject, so if you're someone who's unnerved by the concept of death, maybe give his channel a try.
