There's nothing better than crawling into bed with freshly washed sheets, especially when they smell good.
And now, one woman on TikTok has revealed how to wash your bed sheets so that they smell amazing every time - and it's such an easy trick. You can watch below:
The woman, who goes by @refinedliving on TikTok, explained that there's a mega simple way to wash your sheets so that they smell and look good - and it doesn't involve the type of washing liquid or fabric conditioner you use.

"Who needs to wash their sheets?," the cleaning expert asked.
In the video, she added: "This is your sign to wash your sheets once a week. Send this to someone who needs to wash their sheets."
The cleaning guru can be seen adding a homemade concoction to the washing machine, made up of detergent, one-quarter cup of bicarbonate of soda, one-quarter cup of vinegar and five drops of lavender essential oils.

And people were impressed with the video, with one person commenting: "I'm def trying this today. I wash and change mine once a week."
While another said: "I started doing this a couple months ago and LOVE IT!"
And a third added: "I use baking soda and vinegar in my wash also. They are great sanitizers."
Meanwhile a fourth commented: "I'm doing that right now."

The video also kickstarted a debate over how many times we should all be washing our bed sheets.
One person said: "Ur telling me there's people that do not wash them at least once a week???"
While another said: "Once every two weeks is good enough if you don’t have pets and sleep alone."

A third added: "I do it maybe once a month."
While a fourth commented: "I don't have kids or pets so I’m good. Ain’t no way. Not in this economy."
A survey from 2020 revealed that one-third of the population only wash them once a year.
The Hammonds Furniture survey, which spoke to 2,000 Brits, found they're falling behind when it comes to keeping up with their laundry.

So much so that one in three of us only wash our bed sheets once a year, despite the fact that doing so can lead to dust mites and bed bugs, as well as fungal infections and skin irritation.
This comes despite advice from expert Philip Tierno - a microbiologist from New York University - who suggests we should ideally be popping our sheets in the wash at least once a week. You can read more on that here.
