Gender reveal parties should be a time when expecting parents come to together to share a special moment with their nearest and dearest in whatever gimmicky way they please.
From your standard balloon popping to smoke cannons - it's fair to say that couples can get very creative when it comes to outside-the-box ways to celebrate the occasion.
One pair of parents, however, have divided opinion after being accused of having a 'disappointed' reaction to their baby's gender reveal.

Soon-to-be dad, Aidan Payne, took to TikTok to share the parental milestone with his nine thousand followers and it has sparked quite the reaction online. Have a look:
In the family footage, Aidan can be seen standing next to his pregnant partner, who was wearing a blue dress.
To reveal the gender, he used a paint machine that would spray either pink or blue and, if we're following archaic gender norm traditions, it would appear the couple were expecting a girl from the pink mist splattered across the board.

The mum almost immediately looked away from the board while Aidan continued spray painting as he paced back and fourth on the spot.
He captioned the post: "Absolutely over the moon cant wait to meet you baby girl first time dad."
The video, just over a minute long, has since gone viral after clocking up more than a staggering 20.4 million views on the platform with dozens of thousands of comments from people eager to share their thoughts on the gender reveal reaction.

Many were of the impression that the expecting parents were far from happy with the news, with one TikTok user writing: "The eye roll… the arms crossed… the disappointment... I’m not crying you are."
A second sarcastically quipped: "The visible disappointment on mum's face is just so so heartwarming."
And that was just one of many sarcastic comments left under the TikTok.
One viewer penned: "Yous look absolutely delighted about that gender reveal."
