Marriage doesn’t always mean that it’s forever, and sometimes it’s clear to see that the end is near right as they take their nuptials.
When your nearest and dearest say ‘I do’ to each other, with everyone in attendance, you’d often like to believe that they mean that.
However, it’s not always the case.

From getting into bar fights, to infidelity, there are just some hints on the wedding day that let you know beforehand that it’s all going to end in disaster.
On X, a person shared a Reddit thread which asked users what their most shocking experiences as a wedding guest was which let them know that the bride and groom were soon to divorce, and it’s a wild ride.
There’s nothing quite like watching messy drama unfold right before your eyes, and now you get to hear about it too.
A missing groom
If the man of the hour disappears, it’s got to be an issue, right?

Well, it definitely is if he ends up being found in a compromising position.
According to one user: “Groom went missing from ceremony to reception. Bride found him banging the best man in the toilets. She smashed a glass in his face.”
Infidelity and assault? That’s obviously not a marriage that will work.
A violent bride
Family spats can occur even on a happy day such as a wedding, but this is no ordinary argument.

As per an online user: “During the reception the brides niece accidentally knocked over a drink that splashed the bride's shoes and she backhanded her in front of everyone.
“It caused a huge fight and the groom walked out right then.”
The couple brawled
There’s nothing like telling someone you’re going to spend the rest of your life with them, before attempting to shorten it by a few years.

As per a Redditor: “Actually, I performed a wedding at a local bar.. we left about 10pm. The newlyweds got drunk, started fighting, and were arrested, spending the night in jail.”
Ah, the love of two jailbirds is something to behold…from a distance.
A green card scam
While it’s always best to take the whole ‘green card’ as a reason to get married thing with a pinch of salt, this one is something that very well might be true.

A Redditor wrote: “My brother got married to a woman from Russia while in the army. The whole family thought she married him for a green card, but he was convinced it was love. They had their ceremony in a gazebo on a military base.”
However, it all went wrong when it turned up, and they believe all of the elements of the wedding led to their eventual divorce.
They said: “It was a small gathering of family that traveled to it from out of state. His best friend since high school got ordained just so he could marry them. My brother was really excited.
“He wore a nice suit and the bride… well… she showed up in a bright pink track suit. They divorced a year later.”
