A pair of twins born at New Year have birthdays not only on different days - but in different years, too.
Kali Jo Scott and Cliff Scott's baby girls were born minutes apart, via c-section, just before midnight on New Year's Eve, and just after midnight on New Year's Day.
While Annie Jo was born at 11:55pm, Effie Rose was welcomed one minute past midnight at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton.
The new parents are looking forward to the girls being able to celebrate their own individual birthdays, which isn't something that occurs often with twins.

"I love it," Kali told FOX KDFW. "I think it is hilarious and just super fun.
"You always still want to make sure they have their own individual personality and know that they are special and unique.
"One will always get the glitter and confetti of New Year's Eve and one gets to kick it off with a brand-new year on New Year's Day."

Kali explained how she had initially gone into hospital for some monitoring, before welcoming her girls by c-section just days later.
"We had kind of joked, like, 'wouldn't it be funny if…' with the holiday and New Year's Eve over the weekend. It turned out that was more of a possibility than we realised.
"Everything went really well, my doctor and her team have been wonderful, I'm really pleased with how well it's gone. They were right at 37 weeks, so they were a little early but they are doing great."
The couple explained there are a few scenarios in which the babies' birthdays could be complicated, such as kids' sporting tournaments - often based around birth year - and taxes.

"Our friends were making fun of us for the tax deduction issue since we only get one tax deduction for last year, but I think that's just fine," Kali added.
Over on social media, Kali wrote: "Cliff and I are so proud to introduce Annie Jo and Effie Rose Scott!
"Annie was the last baby born in 2022 at 11:55 p.m. Then, Effie was the very first born in 2023 at 12:01!

"They both came out healthy and happy and weighing 5.5 pounds. Cliff and I are just so excited for this adventure!"
Meanwhile, Texas Health Systems added: "Congratulations to the happy family and our new years babies!"
