A dad has been praised online after explaining that he takes his daughter into the ladies bathroom when they are out together.
Figuring out which bathroom to use can be a conundrum for parents when they're out with small children of a different gender.
One dad however has decided that he doesn't want his daughter using the men's when she's out with him, and people have rushed to praise him online.

Muhammed Nitoto, who goes by the username @TheDaddyChronicles on Instagram, lamented the cleanliness of men's bathrooms.
He also highlighted that men's bathrooms often don't have any facilities for baby changing. Way to break gender roles.
Muhammed decided he would take his daughter into the ladies' from then on when there wasn't a family bathroom available.

He explained: "[Gents' bathrooms] smell like pee and nothing is set up for a person with a child. The changing table was right next to the urinal which means my child literally would be next to where men pee while she's being charged."
This was the final straw for Muhammed.
He said: "They are too young to go on their own so I have to go in with them. I try to be as respectful to women as I can while doing so which consists of knocking on the door before entering and announcing myself.
"Making sure if someone is inside that they know I am a Dad coming in with his daughter and making sure they are comfortable with that.

"Now once inside our stall, I still am aware of the door and whenever I hear it open and someone new is coming in I announce myself again and make sure they know I'm inside with my child so that they aren't surprised."
Muhammed had an overwhelmingly positive reaction to his post. Many people praised him both for his tact in announcing himself, as well as sharing stories of their own struggles with this very issue while out and about.
One wrote: "I support this 100%. My husband and I were at the mall one time, I think our daughter was two.

"He took her into the men's room to change her. When he came out he said the exact things you did in this post. It was dirty, the changing table was out in the open by the urinals and the men walking in and out made it uncomfortable.
"He said he got a weird look from one guy (not in a creepy way, more of a 'what is your daughter doing in here?' look)."
Another posted: "I love that you continue to announce yourself as you hear the door open so you don’t surprise anyone.
"Not only being considerate of your daughters’ needs and of the folks who may already be in here before you enter but also anyone who may enter."

A third replied: "This makes me feel like you're a great dad! I've never experienced a father with daughters in the ladies room but I would be 100% supportive and not mind one bit."
