A plane passenger was left feeling ‘mildly furious’ after the person sitting in front of them attached a device to their seat which meant the tray table attached to the back couldn’t be folded down.
Posting in the Reddit forum ‘mildly infuriating’ user DriveFearless uploaded a photo of the situation, prompting many of their fellow social media users to offer up the same bit of advice.
DriveFearless explained: “Woman in front of me put some seat attachment which prevents me from opening my tray table.”

Redditors were quick to point out the obvious and tell DriveFearless that they simply had to unbuckle the strap restricting their fold-down table.
Many left comments like: “There is a clip. Open it,” “Good thing the buckle is right in front of you so you can [un]clip it and put your tray down” and “Just unclip it.”
In some slightly more positive travel news, a mum was recently praised for the kind way she convinced a fellow flyer to swap plane seats with her.

Anna Lyn Cook took to TikTok where she explained that, despite trying to ensure her family were all sitting together when booking online, she wasn’t able to seat them next to each other.
Doting mum Anna said that when she boarded the plane, she noticed that the passenger who was sitting with her family looked a little stressed about the fact he was surrounded by kids.
Thankfully, the man was more than happy to swap seats with Anna after she pointed out that the seat he’d be moving into had more legroom.

She shared: "The guy who was sitting in the seat just came. He was like looking at the seat, putting his bag up. You could just kind of see on his face, 'I'm sitting here with all these kids'.”
Anna said the passenger was ‘so down’ to take her seat, writing: "I would never ask anyone to switch seats unless I could offer them a better option. If they didn't want to, I'd happily accept that. Also — we ALWAYS pay extra to select our seats if we have the option."
Social media users were quick to praise Anna’s handling of the situation, with one person writing: “And THAT is how you get people to switch seats,” while a second person echoed: “See this is how you trade a seat! Offer a better one.”
