The president of the New York University College Republicans who resigned following her 'inappropriate' remarks about Barron Trump has since spoken out.
The 18-year-old son of the Republican president, Donald Trump, has been attending classes at New York University's Stern School of Business since September, having graduated from Florida's Oxbridge Academy in May.
However last week, (12 February), New York University College Republicans president Kaya Walker got into some trouble with her comments about what Barron is like on campus.
Walker described Barron as 'sort of like an oddity on campus' to Vanity Fair, adding that he 'goes to class, he goes home'.

She also told the outlet that one of her professors joked that the teen 'doesn’t really belong here', making a reference to the school’s historically liberal politics.
Since Walker's comments, College Republicans of America (CRA) has issued a statement on the matter, where they claimed her comments didn't 'align with the values and principles upheld by our organisation'.
And now, Walker has spoken up about the situation, telling The New York Post that her quotes were taken out of context by AF Post, who posted the comments to Twitter, before going viral online.

She said: "[AF Post] took it to say that I was saying that Barron was strange for being a commuter - which I thought was crazy because I’m a commuter.
"They [made it] look like I was calling the president’s son weird, but I feel like anybody who can read would know that’s not what I was doing."
Walker also highlighted that she 'campaigned for' Trump and had no 'ill intent towards him', adding: "I just feel bad that he's having this hard college experience, and I understand that he wants to be left alone.
"I don’t even know Baron Trump. I campaigned for his father. Why would I have any ill intent towards him?"

Will Donahue, the head of the College Republicans of America, has defended the decision to ask Walker to resign to The NY Post, saying: "The conversation that we have with Kaya is, look, this is blowing up out of proportion, to protect your reputation and the organisation, the prudent move would be for you to step down."
He also made sure to outline that the senior undergrad quit 'on her own volition'.

While Walker had no comment on the College Republicans of America, she did say that she had no choice and revealed: "I actually regret resigning."
