Donald Trump has left people shocked after a photographer managed to snap a page of notes the president was holding as he held a press conference to support Elon Musk - and plug his business.
Earlier this week on Tuesday (11 March), the 78-year-old Republican made quite the show of buying a Tesla car - which he isn't 'allowed' to drive - from the likes of multi-billionaire Musk, who bankrolled his presidential campaign.
Trump has urged his fans to also 'show of confidence and support' to Musk, the wealthiest man on Earth whose net worth is approximately $324.3 billion, after claiming 'Radical Left Lunatics' were attempting to 'illegally and collusively boycott Tesla'.
In a video shared to his own social media platform, Truth Social, Trump could be seen explaining why he was going to buy the Tesla, a red Model S which retails for about $80,000,

Speaking outside of the White House, Trump said: "Number one, it's a great product - as good as it gets - and number two, because Elon has devoted his energy and his life to doing this and I think he has been treated very unfairly…"
One photographer, however, was able to snap a picture of the papers Trump was holding in his hand when making the speech - a copy of the speech with a handwritten note that featured prices for the cars which read like a sales pitch.
The image read in part: "Teslas can be purchased as low as $299/month or $35K."
Another handwritten sentence added underneath: "All cars have self-driving, just needs to be turned on."

After catching light of the 'script', one X user penned: "In one of the most embarrassing moments in @WhiteHouse history, @realDonaldTrump starred in his own Tesla infomercial in front of the White House with notes in hand written by his pet #ElonMusk.
"How pathetic."
A second declared: "At this point, does anyone really believe Trump, not Elon, is in charge. Elon gave Trump a script to pitch his cars & Trump did it."

"Donald Trump was quite literally handed a scripted sales pitch by Elon Musk during his Tesla-buying stunt," wrote a third, while a fourth chimed in: "Holy s**t - Trump was reading from a literal Tesla sales pitch, complete with pricing, during his White House event with Elon Musk."
Another hit out: "Trump out here reading Musk's sales pitch is extra pathetic."
"Trump reading a Tesla sales pitch at the White House with Musk shows blatant corruption. Grifting never stops, even in office. Disgraceful," echoed a final X user.
