Prince Harry makes major decision that could have huge impact on royal family relationship

Prince Harry makes major decision that could have huge impact on royal family relationship

It comes after Prince Harry admitted there is a 'rift' between him and the Royal Family

Prince Harry has made a huge decision over his controversial memoir as he gears up for its paperback release later this year.

Back in 2023, the Duke of Sussex released his bombshell book Spare, which claimed Prince William 'grabbed and knocked [him] into a dog bowl', and revealed the final words Harry said to the late Queen Elizabeth || before she passed away.

When the book was released, Harry was criticised by some for publicising matters many deemed to be private.

However, with the book's publisher, Penguin, announcing that Spare is getting a paperback version in the coming months, some have wondered whether Harry would be sharing any further details or updated anecdotes.

After all, a lot has happened since the book was written.

Often, when a book is released in paperback, it contains updated details or extra chapters.

But it's now been revealed that the paperback version of Spare will not contain any new information, with the contents of the book remaining unchanged.

It's not clear if this was a new decision by Harry, or if it has always been the intention.

The release of the book in paperback will coincide with King Charles' upcoming Oceania tour, in which he will be attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa.

Just last month, Prince Harry opened up about the reasons behind the 'rift' between him and the rest of the Royal Family in an ITV interview.

When asked by host Becca Barry to what extent he thought his determination to fight the tabloid papers destroyed his relationship with his family, Harry said: "It is certainly a central piece to it.

"It is a hard question to answer because anything I say about my family results in a torrent of abuse from the press.

"I have made it very clear that this is something that needs to be done.

"It would be nice if we did it as a family, I believe from a service standpoint and when you are in a public role these are the things we should be doing for the greater good.

"I am doing this for my reasons."

Barry then asked: "What do you think of their decision not to fight in the way you have?"

To which Harry said: "I think that everything that has played out has shown people what the truth of the matter is, for me the mission continues.

"I think as you say, it has caused part of a rift."

Spare will be released in paperback in the UK on 24 October 2024, and 22 October across the globe.
