Head coach of the Lionesses Sarina Wiegman paid a special tribute to her late sister during this weekend's exhilarating Euro 2022 final.
Over the course of a nail-biting 90 minutes, the England ladies fought their way to victory with a whopping 2-1 win against Germany.
As fans watched the game through bated breath, they occasionally caught Sarina Wiegman kissing a bracelet – and it turns out that the move was a special signal to her sister.

Just a month before the Euro championship, Sarina's sister passed away. With the biggest game of the ladies' careers rapidly approaching, Sarina took just one week off to grieve with her family before getting back into training.
When she got back to work, Sarina revealed that she had been asked by the Lionesses if they could wear a black mourning wristband in their first friendly match, to recognise her devastating loss.
She told talkSPORT last week: "They have supported me so much. The captains came to me & asked if we could wear them. They are such good human beings & it shows the togetherness of the team. It was a great gesture. My sister would be proud."

Sarina made sure to honour her sister, too, during Sunday's final.
As soon as England secured the win against Germany, thanks to forward Chloe Kelly, the first thing Sarina did was kiss a band that she was wearing on her wrist.
Speaking after the victory, she explained: "I'm kissing this little armband that was my sister's. My sister passed away during our prep camps.

"That's a really big miss, because she's my mate.
"She would have been here, she went to every game, so she would have been really proud of me, and I was really proud of her too."
Making note of Germany's Lina Magull, who rattled England's crossbar and narrowly missed a goal, Sarina added: "But I think she [her sister] was here, I think she was on the crossbar."

Sarina led the ladies to their first major trophy this weekend, putting an end to England's 56-year wait for any team to bring football home.
Speaking immediately after the win, Wiegman admitted that she would 'need a couple of days' to process it all.
"I think what we’ve done is really incredible," she said. "I’m so proud of the team. I think I need a couple of days to realise what we’ve done."
