Woman, 28, quit teaching job to become stay-at-home girlfriend

She admitted her mum compared her lifestyle to that of a ‘1950s housewife’

A woman has admitted her mum compared her lifestyle to that of a ‘1950s housewife’ after she quit her job to become a stay-at-home girlfriend.

Summer Hawkins, 28, has spoken candidly about being a 'stay-at-home girlfriend', revealing she quit her job as a primary school teacher to look after her boyfriend full time.

Summer’s partner - Love Island 2020 contestant Biggs-Marvin Chris - convinced her to move from Bristol to Glasgow and forgo a day job, instead staying at home all day to run errands.

The pair had only been dating for five months when Summer agreed to move her entire life up north, having connected previously on social media.

Summer said that when she was working as a primary school teacher she barely had any money left after paying rent, and by all accounts loves her new lifestyle.

She even told The Mirror that when she and Biggs, 30, agreed to meet up for the first time, he actually sent a mate of his to the club to make sure she was ‘worth the effort’.

Biggs said that he’d ‘always take care’ of Summer if she moved to Glasgow and according to Summer, ‘every woman would be delighted by that offer’.

Telling the paper about her day-to-day routine, Summer said she gets up every morning and makes sure the shower is ‘nice and hot’ for her boyfriend.

She then prepares him breakfast, which could be anything from ‘chicken and rice to an egg sandwich’.

Summer added: “I make him a hot chocolate and he tells me what he wants for breakfast. Whatever he wants, he gets.”

After eating his first meal of the day, Biggs (who works as a social media influencer and also renovates properties) leaves for work and Summer starts cleaning the home.

Biggs returns home at lunch to a meal prepared by Summer, and her afternoons are spent walking the dog and hitting the gym.

Summer said she no longer has a ‘single stress’ in her life and loves that she’s able to spend ‘quality time’ with her partner each evening.

“Biggs shows me how much he appreciates me by occasionally washing up his own plate after breakfast,” Summer said.

She went on: “He also brings me home flowers, chocolates and teddies and says, ‘Thank you for making the house a home.’ On special occasions he’ll spoil me with designer bags and shoes.”
