A woman has revealed the heartbreaking moment she knew her marriage was doomed - when her husband admitted that he loved her best friend and had settled by marrying her.
The heart wrenching admission was made on a Reddit thread by a woman called Amber.
Amber, who had been married for ten years, says that she first met her husband when she was 18 years old, alongside her best friend Sarah.

The three of them became a trio, before Sarah got a boyfriend and Amber began dating her male friend.
Eventually, everybody was married and remained on friendly terms.
That is until one night last year, when Sarah and her husband came to visit Amber's home for dinner and Amber's husband made the shocking revelation.

Amber wrote: "We had invited my best friend and her husband around for dinner and we were joking about the things we got up to and my husband brought up how he always had a crush on my best friend and then she got a boyfriend so he settled for me instead.
"When I tell you my whole world just came crashing down. I realised my marriage of 10 years was him settling for second best.
"That I was never his first option. After that everything he did just started to annoy me and he just stopped being attractive to me anymore."

The admission has had a knock on effect for their relationship in both a physical and emotional sense.
Amber admitted: "We haven't slept together in six months because I feel so disgusted. I just want out. I feel like I've wasted my life. I'm disappointed in him and myself for believing I was the one he liked."
But dear reader, this isn't the end of the story.
One day, Amber receives a message from Sarah's husband asking where his wife was.

Amber continued: "Can we guess where she is? SHE IS AT MY F**KING HOUSE WITH MY F**KING HUSBAND!
"What weird f**king universe am I living in?
"Anyway, I'm leaving and taking all my stuff with me. My mum will have to put up with me for a while. Divorce is definitely happening."

Apparently, Amber's husband had fessed up to his infidelity in another post.
He claimed that Sarah had originally come over to help advise him on fixing his marriage and as they say, one thing led to another.
If there's one lesson to take from this, Sarah has no place working as a marriage counselor.
