In a TikTok video with more than 170,000 views, newlywed Ashley Raso claims to have worn a see-through dress on her wedding day for the sake of her future children.
The clip shows the bride from Sydney, Australia being stitched into a sheer lace dress by Australian brand House of Harper, embellished with rows of beaded appliqués.
"POV: You wore a see-through wedding dress to teach your future daughter to be fearless," 26-year-old Ashley penned in the closed caption of the video.
Underneath, she wears just a strapless bralette and underwear, leaving her stomach, thighs, back and bum cheeks completely exposed.

In the caption, she writes: "I have had a passion for design and fashion all of my life and so when I went to Danny and Isabelle with a bold vision to make a see-through wedding dress, the ultimate fashion statement, [they] were instantly thrilled and on board.
"We pushed ourselves [to] think creatively and outside of the box, whilst still keeping the dress refined and classy. The end product exceeded all of my expectations."
Ashley thanked the designers for bringing her vision to life before adding: "My future daughter will thank you one day for allowing her Mum to be fearless and take risks that make her happy."

Ashley looked beautiful in her custom gown, yet the sheer frock proved to be controversial with a number of people sl*t-shaming her online.
“This isn’t teaching your daughter to be ‘fearless’…… have some class or elegance on your wedding day,” read one comment.
Another person told the bride to stop making excuses: “Just wear the dress, no need to pretend like it’s for a daughter.”

And a third comment simply read: "Ick."
But, for all the bashing and shaming Raso faced, others loved the transparent gown, with one user claiming the dress inspired her. "I love the covered but uncovered at the same time look. It's exactly what I want."
Someone else exclaimed: "I CANT, you're an icon".

Raso has since explained that she only wore the see-through wedding dress to the after party. She wore a gown with an embellished bodice and tiered skirt that left a lot more to the imagination for the ceremony.
She also wrote in the comments to her original video: "My immediate family loved it so much."
