Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs decided to shock the world by speaking about the time a bedroom misadventure left him 'screaming' in agony.
Known for playing baddie Lucius Malfoy, Jason, 58, revealed he played with his nether region, while he had Vicks VapoRub on his hands, which left them ‘stinging’.
When Jason was 12 years old, his best friend gave him some Vicks because he had a cold.
It's fair to assume Jason's pal did not expect what would happen next.
While most of us have used Vicks VapoRub when we have a blocked nose and stuffy sinuses, young Jason decided to try something different, or in his words, “stoked himself the way one does”, without realising the pain the cream would cause.
He told the Kermode On Film podcast: “The first time I remember hurting myself at all was when my best friend gave me some Vicks VapoRub when I had a bad chest when I was 12.
“I rubbed it on my chest when I was lying in my bed at night, where I sleep naked.
“And then I stroked myself the way one does, gently on the testicles for comfort – and I leapt out of bed screaming probably for my mother.”
The painful experience got worse as Jason ran for help due to the severe pain.
“I needed to wash the nether regions for quite a while before the stinging went away.”
Ouch.
He added: “That’s the first pain I remember. There have been many things since then, but that stays with me.”
While we don’t exactly know why the Sex Education actor decided to reveal this, we do know that we’ll never be able to look at a tub of Vicks VapoRub the same way ever again.
Jason was on the podcast to promote his new series Good Sam, a medical drama co-starring Sophia Bush about surgeons at the fictional Lakeshore hospital.
Hopefully Jason's childhood mishap doesn't inspire an episode of the show!
