The Good Place actor Jameela Jamil has said she refused to audition for Netflix's You despite being offered a chance to try for the role.
The 37-year-old has starred in the likes of How to Build a Girl, Love at First Sight, Embrace Kids and Marry Me - but she could have added You to that list, too.
You follows serial killer Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) as his obsession of women gets truly out of control.

In the most recent fourth season, Joe moves to London to start afresh as a professor, but his past comes back to truly haunt him.
Alongside Badgley as part of the cast is Tati Gabrielle, Charlotte Ritchie, Tilly Keeper, Amy-Leigh Hickman, Ed Speleers, Lukas Gage and many others.
Jamil may have joined that strong casting lineup had she auditioned, but there was one particular reason why she decided the role was not for her.

Viewers of You will be well aware the show is packed with its fair few sex scenes, with Jamil saying her character would have been too 'sexy'.
Speaking on the Podcrushed Podcast on Thursday (4 May) with host Penn Badgley, funnily enough, Jamil said: "I don't do sex scenes.
"In fact I was supposed to audition for the most recent season of your show and the character was supposed to be quite sexy and I pulled out of the audition because I'm so shy about anything sexy."
The admission came after Badgley asked for fewer sex scenes in the most recent season out of respect for his wife, who surely finds the series an uncomfortable watch.

Dropping out of the auction seemingly provides some regret for Jamil now, as Badgley has essentially told producers how many sex scenes he is willing to do.
However, the actor has starred in all four seasons, so obviously has some authority behind the scenes.
Anyhow, Jamil continued: "And then you f***ing came out and was like 'yeah I'm not doing sex scenes anymore and I'm going to protect myself!'"

"F***ing hell, I didn't even know that was a boundary we could draw! That's fantastic.
"But then I was like - I should have gone and done the f***ing show!"
Badgley then suggested Jamil could join him in season five, adding: "It's not a sex show anymore!"
The Good Place actor even went on to say she skips through sex scenes in film/TV even when she is watching them on her own.

"It's not a shame but I feel like there's an awkwardness around it," she concluded.
