Warning: major Stranger Things spoilers ahead
After binge-watching the new season of Stranger Things, fans have noticed a number of uncanny similarities between the addictive Netflix series and the Harry Potter films.
While both Stranger Things and Harry Potter fit into the sci-fi/fantasy genre, and focus on the 'chosen one' archetype with lead characters like Eleven and Harry respectively, the fourth season gave off stronger Harry Potter vibes than ever before, and fans can't deny the resemblance.

Pointing out the similarities on Reddit, one fan posted some side-by-side photos of Stranger Things and Harry Potter characters, writing: "I can't stop thinking about the similarities!"
Other fans of the series were quick to chime in. While some felt that Eleven was 'pretty much a female Harry Potter type', others pointed out that Will Byers also gave off Harry energy, comparing his neck tingles to Harry's lightning bolt tingles.
Meanwhile, some pointed out that the transition of 001 (or Henry Creel) to Vecna was undeniably similar to the transition of Tom Riddle to Voldemort.

"Henry Creel talking to Eleven gave me some real Tom Riddle vibes," commented one fan.
"Henry Creel/001/Vecna definitely has Voldemort vibes," agreed a second.
They weren't the only comparisons, either.

"Robin gives me Luna Lovegood vibes," one Stranger Things fanatic suggested.
"Me and my mom were just talking about how Nancy reminded us of Hermione," added another.
"Steve’s underwater scene gave me tri-wizard tournament vibes," wrote a third.
And a fourth pointed out: "Nah because after Chrissy died, I was like 'oh so the latter seasons are going to be a little darker like the later Harry Potter movies'.

"This show always gives me Harry Potter vibes, I think that’s why I love it so much."
And it turns out there really is a link between Stranger Things and Harry Potter, too.
Yes, Jamie Campbell Bower, who played the creepy adult 001/Henry Creel in Stranger Things also starred in both Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald, playing a younger version of evil wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

Campbell Bower is clearly no stranger to playing the antagonist in our favourite fantasy flicks.
Earlier this week, we told you about his link to the iconic Twilight film series, where he played Caius, a member of the evil Volturi.
Fans noticed that the actor also appeared alongside Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd, playing the lovelorn Anthony, who performs the ballad 'Johanna' in the film.
