Kim Kardashian has decided to splash the cash on a famous pendant that was once worn by the late Princess Diana.
The 42-year-old has had to part ways with £163,000 of her own money to obtain the famous jewelry piece in an auction in London.
The reality TV star did not attend the auction in person, but instead sent a representative to do the bidding for her at Sotheby's London on Wednesday (18 January).

And the Keeping Up With the Kardashian's star received the good news that she is now the proud owner of the pendant that was famously worn by Princess Diana.
It is said the bidding war for the piece got quite intense, with four vying bidders all hoping to bag the pendant.

The very high price that Kardashian eventually paid for the pendant is said to be more than double the pre-auction estimated price.

It does show how keen the reality star was to buy the pendant, and she was willing to put her money where her mouth was.
Head of jewellery at Sotheby’s London Kristian Spofforth said: "Jewellery owned or worn by the late Princess Diana very rarely comes on to the market, especially a piece such as the Attallah cross, which is so colourful, bold and distinctive.
"To some extent, this unusual pendant is symbolic of the princess’s growing self-assurance in her sartorial and jewellery choices, at that particular moment in her life."

The sought-after pendant was created by luxury jewellery designer Garrard in the 1920s, featuring an amethyst cross and circular-cut diamonds.
The pendant first came into the public eye in October 1987, with Princess Diana wearing it at a London charity gala event.

In the event supporting Birthright - a charity raising awareness towards the protection of human rights during pregnancy and childbirth - Princess Diana paired it with a Catherine Walker dress.

The diamond weight of the cross is around 5.25 carats, and was one of a number of Garrard pieces Princess Diana wore in his life.
Even in her last public appearance before her tragic death, Diana wore a Swan Lake necklace - a piece in collaboration with the jewellery designer.
The famous pendant is actually not the first iconic piece belonging to a celebrity that Kardashian has set her eyes on.
At the Met Gala in 2022, Kardashian borrowed Marilyn Monroe's famous nude-coloured dress - something she admitted she had to shed 16 pounds to fit into.
