Fans of Emily In Paris might be used to shocks and surprises involving Lily Collins, but nothing could prepare people for the discovery of who her dad is.
It's not like the actor has been going around actively hiding her family members from the world, but after the third season of Emily In Paris arrived on Netflix, many fans made the connection by doing some research into the star.
Lily has won millions of people over with the comedy, romance and drama wrapped up in her character Emily Cooper, but her acting credits date back years.

She's starred alongside Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side and Zac Efron in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, but it's her very first credit that might give you a clue about her dad.
In 1999, Lily was credited with voicing a baby ape in Disney's Tarzan.
The film is one with an epic and often-joked-about soundtrack credited, of course, to Genesis frontman Phil Collins. Recognise the last name?

After making the link, one shocked Twitter user wrote: "Has everyone else just been casually walking around all year with the knowledge that Lily Collins is Phil Collins' daughter?!
Another commented: "Found out Lily Collins is Phil Collins' daughter today via TikTok I had zero idea omg."
Many people learned about the relationship between Lily and Collins thanks to one current hot topic: nepo babies.

The term relates to celebrities with famous parents, but Lily has made clear that she never wanted to use her dad's fame to her advantage when getting into show business.
In an interview for Vogue France’s December issue, Lily said: “It was out of the question that people would think that I use a free pass thanks to my name.
"I’m proud of my dad, but I wanted to be me, not just his daughter. For that, I was ready to wait to break through.

"By dint of failed castings, I learned to focus more on my work, and I managed to make acting my job. But I’m not resting on my laurels: this environment is very competitive and places are expensive."
The actor went on to explain that her decision to get involved with on-screen work was spurred by a determination to achieve success on her own despite her love of singing.
"As I wanted to make my own way, far from the paternal genius, I preferred to be an actress,” she explained.
Lily's comments haven't stopped people labelling her a 'nepo baby', but one gracious fan did at least name her their 'favourite nepo baby'.
