The Love Island villa has been home to all sorts of bizarre and noteworthy sights over the years, but I don't think we've ever seen a floating hand before...
Has Wednesday's Thing joined the cast? Is the severed hand currently in Spain looking for love?
I think it probably would have its own Instagram page if it had, or at least made a few adverts, so I don't think that's what's happened.

Fans have been left wondering, though, after a mysterious, seemingly unattached hand was spotted on Love Island this week.
Viewers called out the blunder after the hand appeared on the shoulder of 2023 contestant Scott Van Der Sluis, who was seen sitting with Molly Smith and soaking up the sun by the fire pit.
Molly wasn't sitting close enough to Scott to put a hand on his shoulder, and there weren't any other bodies in the near area, but somehow a hand had still managed to make its way to rest on by Scott's neck.

Fans took to Twitter to question the sight, with one writing: "Whose hand is on Scott’s shoulder, just seen this I don’t know if it’s photoshop but got me thinking."
Another commented: "This is such a strange picture lol. It looks like it's just chilling there behind him not attached to anyone. I'm trying so hard to figure out where its arm is."
Some fans used the video to try and prove the existence of ghosts, while one implied it might be someone playing a prank on Scott and Molly, writing: "someone's behind the couch."

A lot of fans did also put forward the Wednesday 'Thing' theory, but since we've already established that's probably not the case, it seems like there might have been some editing gone wrong.
The sight prompted some viewers to call out the creators of the show, with one writing: "Love Island need to chill with their editing."
Though the hand clearly wasn't supposed to be there, it did lead to a fun game for some viewers who took it upon themselves to try and guess who the hand belonged to.

One person suggested the hand was Scott's own, while another called attention to possible tattoos visible on the floating hand, suggesting these might be a sign it belonged to fellow islander Zachariah Noble.
"Zach has those tattoos on his hand doesn't he .. on his finger?," they wrote.
We may never know who the hand belongs to, but as long as it doesn't get in the way of any of the budding relationships in the villa, I'm sure it won't cause too much trouble.
