When Adam Brody and Leighton Meester tied the knot in 2014, they became THE power couple of noughties nostalgia.
The pair have since welcomed a daughter called Arlo, now nine, and a four-year-old son whose name has not been made public.
Two kids later, the couple have now also been married for a very respectable 10 years – not bad going, considering Hollywood’s reputation for short-lived celebrity relationships, which are often over faster than it takes for the newspaper ink to dry.

Brody is best known for starring as Seth Cohen in sunny teen drama The OC, while Meester played Blair Waldorf in New York-based series Gossip Girl – both created by famed American screenwriter and producer Josh Schwartz.
But even though they’ve got a fair bit of common ground on the acting front, Brody reckons it’s something much simpler that’s led to their long-lasting love.
In an interview with Today’s Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, he was asked what the ‘magic’ of their relationship was.

“Oh, pick someone good,” he replied.
“Be lucky and be in love with someone who’s great and then just kind of listen to them.”
Brody continued: “If you’re with someone great, you’re on third base.
“Not that it doesn’t take sacrifice and humility and you have to grow together and you have to be willing to grow, because you’re not going to be able to stay 100 percent right where you are. But if you’re with someone wonderful, I think you’re on third base.”

Last year, Meester also opened up about her marriage, saying she and her husband ‘just make it work’, no matter what it takes.
While the pair remain fairly private, she gave us a little glimpse behind the curtain.
“We’re super, super lucky, and I think we recognize how lucky we are with one another,” Meester explained.

“We give each other a lot of respect and time and attention and focus. Like, really put our time and energy into a relationship.”
Brody previously admitted that Meester didn’t actually seem that into him when they first met.
“I think the first time I saw her is when I met her at Canter’s, the deli in Los Angeles; I used to eat there all the time,” he said on Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast, adding that he was ‘smitten instantly’.
“And I was, you know, smitten for a long time. I didn’t get to know her for many years after, even though we even worked together briefly. She remained elusive to me for so long, you know, and aloof.”

Brody went on: “I couldn’t get a total read because even though she professes to have been interested in me and all those things, not only did she not pursue that - I mean, she was perfectly willing to let that never happen.
"[...] She was perfectly willing to let that message in the bottle return to sea at several points.”
