Emotional comments made by Adele regarding being filmed ‘against [her] will’ have resurfaced amid the announcement of some major career news this week.
On Saturday (31August), 36-year-old Adele told show-goers in Munich, Germany, that she wanted to ‘live’ her life following the conclusion of her Las Vegas residency.
The star has been performing her Weekends with Adele shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace since November 2022 and isn’t due to conclude until November 2024.
However, as the residency winds down, the ‘Hello’ hitmaker claimed she was more than ready for a lengthy ‘break’.

“I just need a rest,” she told the German crowd. “I’ve spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now.”
She continued to thank loyal fans at the custom-built arena in Munich Messe before admitting she had just a handful of shows left on her roster.
“I have ten shows left after this, back in my residency… but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break… I want to live my new life that I’ve been building,” she added.
“I’ll miss you terribly, but I’ll remember these shows for eternity.”

This isn’t the first time Adele has made candid confessions live on stage.
At a concert in February, the vocalist admitted she was unhappy being beamed on television screens whilst attending a National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star game in 2022.
“So, I know it sounds crazy, but I really don’t like being famous, right?,” she emotionally admitted before claiming she’d begged cameramen not to film her at the event.

"I said, ‘Please don’t, please don’t, I just cancelled [my Las Vegas residency], I really don’t want to’.
“Do you remember that viral meme of me looking like I don't give a flying f***?” she said.
“The reason I looked like my lips had filler – because I got naturally big lips, right, I don't need filler – the reason I looked like a different person was because I was sulking.

“Because I was like ‘these motherf****rs have come back and are filming me against my will,'" she said.
Adele continued to say she ‘didn’t realise’ the game was being aired on TV and that she was forced to ‘ignore’ cameras being shoved in her face.
“I was very annoyed because I asked not to be filmed, but I guess I was asking it by going.

“Also my face is just very meme-able, I can't help it,” she remarked.
The final leg of the 16-time Grammy winner’s Weekends With Adele shows are set to kick off in Nevada on 25 October.
She will continue to take over the venue each weekend before bringing the residency to an end on 23 November.
According to an interview in July, Adele plans to pour her new-found time into other ‘creative’ outlets.
"I don’t have any plans for new music at all," she told Germany’s public-service television broadcaster, ZDF.
"I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while."
