Amari Thompson's severe condition has been explained, after Kim Kardashian faced criticism following claims that he doesn't make her children feel 'the most comfortable'.
Kim Kardashian has been slammed on social media, after asking her children a 'tone-deaf' question about Tristan Thompson's younger brother, Amari, who is disabled.
The Kardashian/Jenner family came together to celebrate Amari's 18th birthday, which was aired in the most recent episode of The Kardashians.

During the clips, Kim admitted that her children have a 'lot of questions' when it comes to Amari’s disability, remarking they 'might not be the most comfortable’ around him. The teen suffers from a severe form of epilepsy known as Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.
But viewers were furious when they saw a video of Kim asking her 7-year-old, Chicago, if she was 'scared' of Amari.

“There’s no need to be,” she continued. “But it’s okay if you are.”

One user said: "Why the f*** would Kim ask those kids if they're scared of Amari!? what in the juvenile, tone-deaf question is that!?"
Another added: "Exploiting a child with epilepsy and dragging him in front of a camera just to have a storyline for your dumb show is vile. I truly hate this family."
Tristan Thompson, who shares two children with Khloe Kardashian, is Amari's legal guardian, following their mum Andrea’s death in 2023.
What is Lennox-Gastaut syndrome?

It's a condition that usually manifests in early childhood, and those who suffer can experience seizures with periods of extreme and less-extreme frequency.
According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, those with the syndrome usually have 'impaired intellectual functioning or information processing, along with developmental delays and behavioural disturbances'.
Amari is confined to his wheelchair and cannot live independently.
In court documents which would allow him to become Amari's legal guardian, Tristan said: "[I want] to ensure that Amari continues to have a happy and fulfilling life and to provide him with the best care possible."

He noted that having him as his guardian 'would be in his best interest because it would ensure that someone would be responsible for providing and fulfilling his basic needs'.
Posting on his brother's 18th birthday, he wrote on Instagram: "Happy birthday, Amari! Big number 18!
"We are so blessed and fortunate for all the blessings that you bring to our lives! You are always a beacon of light! I love you so much and I’m so so blessed to be your older brother."
