Tara Reid has some harsh words for everyone who has been giving her flack over the way she looks, revealing that it has actually given her ‘thicker skin’.
Her role as Vicky Lathum in the American Pie series is iconic, landing her as one of the ‘it’ girls of the 90s and 2000s.
While she was only 22 when she landed her Hollywood success, Reid celebrated and celebrated hard. I mean, who wouldn’t?

Anyway, she quickly shot up to become a sex symbol through her roles on screen, which also came with a naff consequence: scrutiny.
Controversy soon followed and she began to make headlines, which completely overshadowed her success and acting abilities.
Just a few years after appearing in the Pie movie, she was in rehab for alcohol addiction.

Speaking to PEOPLE magazine about her 2008 stint, she said that she had 'done enough [partying] for a lifetime'.
And during her appearance on the Fox reality quasi-military training television series Special Forces, her words really hit home for fans.
During her appearance on Special Forces, she explained: "Everyone says, ‘She got so old looking, she looks bad, she looks like sh*t.’ And just this sh*t that goes on social media,” before describing herself as a 'broken bird'.
But now, because she has a new wave of fans and followers who are behind her back, the 48-year-old admitted: “I’ve never felt so much love and support in my life.”

Reid said that she wanted to get 'thicker skin' by going on the show and was growing tired of the talk around her appearance.
She said: “I feel fine in my body. It’s just no one else does.”
Even her own friend, American radio host Billy Bush, told her she was ‘too skinny’ last October, but her newfound support system has helped her to get over those comments.

Special Forces show-runner Becky Clarke went on to say about the actress: “We’ve all got scars, haven’t we? We’ve all suffered the highs and the lows. And that’s what Tara represents. I think people — and particularly women of a certain age — tuned in wanting to find out about her and connect. Because she’s real.
“She came not to just prove to people that there was more to her than the tabloid tale. She came for herself."
