Caitlyn Jenner has shared the ‘sad’ truth about her relationship with ex-wife Kris Jenner, having opened up about the dynamic with her former partner in an interview tying in with a brand new documentary.
Caitlyn, 73, shares daughters Kendall and Kylie with Kris, 67, having got married in 1991 after five months of dating.
The couple decided to separate in 2013, before filing for divorce the following year, citing irreconcilable differences.

While they are no longer together, however, the behemoth that is the Kardashian-Jenner empire still rages on – so much so, in fact, that it’s now the subject of a brand new Sky documentary, House of Kardashian.
The three-part docu-series details the family’s 'rise, reach and the cost that comes with having Kardashian-level fame'.
While the Kardashian family opted not to take part in the project, Caitlyn decided to be involved as a way of looking out for her family.

“I want to protect my family,” Caitlyn said in an interview on This Morning earlier today to promote the documentary.
She added: “I think in the media you get totally misrepresented, and so I wanted to do it just to say, first of all, how much I love my kids, and second of all, how proud I am of them and what they’ve been able to accomplish in their life.”
Speaking about the early days of her relationship with Kris, Caitlyn continued: “I was just turning 40 […] and blind date, met Kris, we hit it off from day one.”
When asked if it was ‘love at first sight’, she replied: “Pretty close to that, yes.

“I was totally impressed with her intelligence, her sense of style, the way she lived her life.
“She had four kids, I had four kids, we’d both come in with the same amount of baggage.
“And so we got married five and a half months later! It was very quick.”

But while Caitlyn – who also has four other kids from previous relationships – has clearly had a lot of respect for Kris over the years, she admitted their relationship is very different these days.
She went on: “Well, Kris, I really never talk to anymore. Yeah, I know, it's sad.
“If there's any communication, [my manager] runs the show, so she talks to her.
“The Kardashian side, when you have as many kids as I have, you're closer to some than you are to others.

“[…] I certainly see them and we do this and that.
“I'm much closer to the Jenner side with Brandon and Brody and my son Burt, my daughter Casey, but Kris, I really don’t have any more contact with her.
“It's kind of sad because we went through a lot.”
