The ongoing Los Angeles wildfires have seemingly shed light on some controversial behaviour in the celebrity realm - particularly in the case of Kim Kardashian.

The reality TV star and mother-of-four is facing backlash as a result, with some former fans slamming certain antics previously exhibited by her as 'entitled'.

The initial West Coast fire erupted on 7 January, branching out to a further eight fires in the days that followed. It is believed one of the blazes was caused by arson, however, for which a man has been arrested.

Latest figures released by the Los Angeles County medical examiner's officer show that the death toll has risen to 24.

The Palisades and Eaton fires are believed to have had the most devastating effects, having tragically taken 16 lives, though these numbers are expected to rise.

In the last four days alone, 70 additional water trucks have now been dispatched to fire ravaged or at risk areas to prepare for the upcoming gusts of winds, says Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony C Marrone.

As we say, however, amid the desperation, Kim Kardashian has found herself under scrutiny from several other California residents, who have criticised her for wasting water.

The SKIMS boss - amongst several other big-name stars - has been branded 'entitled' by neighbours for allegedly squandering water supplies, less than three years after water-conserving measures were put into place throughout LA.

Legislation put into place in 2022 restricted residents from using water to replenish their gardens more than twice a week, and only for a maximum of eight minutes per time.

Sadly, however, it sounds as though a certain batch of celebs believe they're exempt from this rule - including Kim, who admitted this week that she may have wasted water supplies that could have been used to help the fires.

The 44-year-old socialite - who resides in an Oaks property worth $60 million - was previously landed with a fine for her overuse of water, having been caught using 232,000 gallons more that her allocated amount.

And despite reports claiming that Kim subsequently installed new water-saving measures, her home is close to the epicentre of the tragic fires has meant that she's now facing severe retrospective criticism.

Other A-list LA locals - including the likes of Kevin Hart and Sylvester Stallone - have also been hit with similar fines.

A neighbour of The Kardashians frontwoman told press this week: "These celebrities have a sense of entitlement. Everyone was told to cut back on water precisely for this situation, to preserve it to fight fires."

They added: "They carried on watering because they could afford the fines."

Tyla has contacted Kim's representatives for comment.
