When you think of Love Island's target audience, you'd be forgiven if your first thought isn't the Royal Family.
The hugely successful reality TV dating show is back on our screens in early June and we couldn't be more excited.
True Love Island veterans know that the show comes with a language all of its own.

"Can I pull you for a chat?"
"I've got a text!"
You know the drill.
So when presenter Maya Jama took the opportunity to ask King Charles if he watches the show (yes, really), the monarch looked like a deer in the headlights.
The two came face to face at a party in the Buckingham Palace gardens yesterday (15 May).

The illustrious event took place in a bid to celebrate creative industries.
As well as the King and Maya, others that were in attendance included Queen Camilla, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Gloucester.
Louis Theroux, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Tess Daly and Kate Moss also dropped by.
When Maya found herself face to face with the King, she blurted out: "I host Love Island. I don't know if you've watched it? It's a dating show."

The King, surely perplexed, quipped: "There's one born every minute!"
Safe to say he's never experienced the chaos that is Casa Amor.
The King then asked Maya about her future plans.

Maya wasted no time when she retorted: "I’m just about to go to Spain to film some young people snog someone."
That pretty much sums up the show, to be honest.
The event, that honoured that arts, was 'not just [for] the famous names', it was further reported. "This was also a party for the backstage sweats, special effects geeks and the donors, too."
A text conversation Maya shared to her Instagram story offered further insight about how it went down with the royals.

Her friend texted her: "I love the fact you said the words 'I touched you but I wasn't supposed to' to the King of the United Kingdom."
Maya responded: "Loool. How do you know that?"
Her friend then simply wrote: "Mate! It's on Sky News."
Maya is truly just like us, what a down to earth queen.
As for the party vibes, it's been revealed in the Daily Mail that it was a 'bohemian vibe', and guests were served cucumber sandwiches (without the crusts), and 'the Yeomen of the Guard lined the lawns and the Band of the Royal Marines played the National Anthem on the stroke of 4pm.'
It's also been reported that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was 'very touched' when Queen Camilla complimented her M&S lingerie line.
How we wish we could have been a fly on the wall.
