Meghan Markle has opened up about the power of her clothing and the one item in her wardrobe that changed the game forever for her.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex first crossed paths back in 2016 and revealed their engagement the following year before tying the knot in May 2018.
Since then, pretty much every single move of Meghan and Harry has been relentlessly analysed, judged and scrutinised by the media. But there was one stand-out moment in particular which made the duchess aware that nothing would ever be the same again.

The 43-year-old, who is mother to son, Archie, five, and daughter Lilibet, three, recently sat down with the New York Times to discuss her business pursuits after she began investing in a small portfolio of female-run companies.
"I spend a lot of time just Googling, looking for brands," she revealed. "When people are online looking for things or reading things, I’m trying to find great new designers, especially in different territories."
Elsewhere in the interview, Meghan explained exactly what item of her wardrobe made her realise just how much attention was focused on her and how this attention was directly linked to an increase in sales for particular clothing items.

Back in 2017, following her engagement to Harry, Meghan donned a bag from the Scottish brand Strathberry during a public appearance with him.
After being papped with the accessory, a founder of the brand revealed the bag had completely sold out online in just a matter of minutes after the duchess was seeing rocking it.
The midi tote in question, which reportedly retailed for $675 (£511.35), sold out in just 11 minutes on the company's website and traffic across the designer's sites that day skyrocketed to a staggering 5,000 percent.

Upon hearing the news, Meghan realised this 'changed everything in terms of how I then looked at putting an outfit together'.
She told the outlet: "Times where I know there is a global spotlight, and attention will be given to each detail of what I may or may not be wearing, then I support designers that I have really great friendships with, and smaller, up-and-coming brands that haven’t gotten the attention that they should be getting."
The decorated businesswoman added: "That’s one of the most powerful things that I’m able to do, and that’s simply wearing, like, an earring."

Meghan and Harry recently visited Colombia following an invitation from the country’s vice-president, Francia Márquez - the first Black woman to hold the position in the country.
The couple aimed to utilise their time in Colombia as an opportunity to draw attention towards their charity work, much of which seeks to make the internet a safer place for children.
