2025 couldn't come quicker for Miley Cyrus, who this week described the last 12 months as 'bittersweet' in an emotional message to her fans.
Whilst the US singer hardly ever opens up on her personal trials and tribulations, she has this week penned a statement on social media claiming she's 'starting over' again.
As any fan of the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker will be well aware, 2024 has been a turbulent one for 32-year-old Miley.

The year kicked off with an immense high when she bagged two Grammy Awards - one for Best Pop Solo Performance and one for Record of the Year - for her heartbreak anthem 'Flowers'
The track was rumoured to have been inspired by her divorce from ex-husband and The Last Song co-star Liam Hemsworth, which was finalised in 2020 after 11 years on and off.
Her double-whammy win was somewhat tainted, however, by speculation about the status of her relationship with her fellow chart-topping father Billy Ray Cyrus, after Miley failed to give him a shout-out in her acceptance speech.
She did, however, become the youngest person ever to receive the Disney Legend Award earlier this year.

And she continued to keep her relationship with boyfriend Maxx Morando going strong, telling Harper's Bazaar in November they're a good fit because neither of them 'take life too seriously'.
Sadly, however, the ex-Hannah Montana star did become embroiled in a legal dispute with Bruno Mars earlier this year over her Grammy-winning hit.
Tempo Music Investments - an investment platform claiming to own a share of the copyright in Mars' 2012 track 'When I Was Your Man' - alleged that Miley and her team had 'undeniably' ripped off the number, something she vehemently denies.

As we say, however, Miley insists she's looking ahead to the future after a tricky year.
Taking to Instagram to share an uber-glam photo of herself, she assured her fans that a new era is just around the corner.
"HAPPY HOLIDAYS & NEW YEAR! It’s bittersweet saying goodbye to a year that has been so good to me, but I am looking forward to starting over again," she penned in a lengthy caption.
"This is one of my favorite parts of not just the creative process but the way life has chosen to teach me."

The former Disney Channel star added that, whilst letting go of the past can feel overwhelming, she encourages other to look positively at the challenges ahead.
"In everything I do I like to go ALL the way," Miley went on. Give it ALL I’ve got. ALL for it to come to an end, move on and start anew.

"At times it can be a heartbreaking process but I’ve always known the pieces to come back together and create something beautiful."
She finished her heartfelt statement by addressing her loyal fans directly, writing: "Thank you to everyone who has been apart of making this year so special.
"Sincerely, Miley."
