If you have ever celebrated a child’s birthday, you’ll know that the first is always the most special.
It’s a time where friends and family spoil your little one with love and the cake is a pretty good topping to the day.
However, Paris Hilton’s recent post went downhill after many hit out at the mum-of-two about taking over her son’s special day.
After welcoming her son Phoenix via surrogacy last year with husband Carter Reum, fans have been itching to see more of her baby.

So, a lavish party with an A-lister guest list wasn’t something that was going to shock anybody.
But it was Paris’ pictures which caused a stir online.
In her series of snaps shared to Instagram, you can see Phoenix and Paris dressed up and standing near a pool.
The 42-year-old captioned the pic: “Such a magical and special day celebrating my #BirthdayBoy Phoenix with my friends and their babies.”

The photos were lovely, showcasing the number of celebrities who came to wish the baby boy a happy birthday, but Paris’ giant blue ballgown dress and selfies with friends caused some issues in the comments.
One person asked: “Is it more about the kid’s birthday or about a photo shoot for the mum…? It’s a kid’s birthday, yet we don’t see the kid doing anything enjoyable, just being held with his pics of mum looking glamorous… interesting.”
Another noted that the photos didn’t contain many shots of the birthday boy, writing: “Lol. This is the strangest birthday party I have ever seen... More focus on the adult than the kids.”

But Paris wasn’t letting the haters get to her as she posted videos to TikTok showing just how much fun everyone was having at the birthday bash.
She said in her video: "It's Phoenix's first birthday and we have a 'sliving under the sea' theme.
"I'm so excited. I've thrown amazing birthday parties my whole life, so now to be able to do this for my little boy is just such a special memory."

The birthday party featured sand art, a petting zoo and guests such as Kelly Osbourne and her son Sidney, Lance Bass and his twins Alexander and Violet, Selma Blair, Rumer Willis and her daughter Louetta Isley.
Paris previously took to Instagram to share a sweet tribute to Phoenix and posted series of snaps from his first year on Earth.
She wrote: "One year ago, a beautiful angel baby entered our lives, bringing so much love and happiness.
"My precious little one, you are more than a dream come true. You make my life complete.

"Every day with you is a priceless gift, and I’m endlessly grateful to be your mommy."
Paris added: "Celebrating your first of many birthdays, Baby P - here’s to a lifetime of laughter, love, and wonderful adventures with our cutesie crew! Happy 1st Birthday!"
