Sacha Baron Cohen has responded to Rebel Wilson naming him as an 'a**hole celebrity' she reportedly 'received threats' from.
The Borat star and Wilson worked together on The Brothers Grimsby back in 2016 and a spokesperson for Baron Cohen has since shared a statement on her comments to The Hollywood Reporter.

It reads: "While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby."
Earlier, Wilson took to her Instagram Story to share her comments on the matter.
While she refrained from naming her co-star on Instagram at the time, she wrote: "Now the a**hole is trying to threaten me.
"He’s hired a crisis PR manager and lawyers. He’s trying to stop press coming out about my new book."

She concluded: "The book WILL come out and you will all know the truth."
The Pitch Perfect star previously posted a video earlier this month on 15 March that delved into the situation a little bit more and explained her 'no a**holes' policy.
She went on: "When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, 'Yeah, I have a no-a**holes policy that means, like, I don’t work with a**holes'.

"I was like, 'Yeah, I mean, that sounds sensible and logical'.
"But then it really sunk in what they were meaning by that, older people in the industry. Because I worked with a massive a**hole, and, yeah, now I definitely have an a**holes policy."
Wilson added: "Chapter on said a**hole - it is chapter 23, that guy was a massive a**hole."

It was later confirmed by Wilson that the person she was referring to is Baron Cohen.
Taking to Instagram once again to confront the issue head-on, she wrote: "I will not be bullied or silenced by high priced lawyers or PR crisis managers.
"The 'a**hole' that I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is: Sacha Baron Cohen."
Wilson’s book, titled Rebel Rising, is set to go on sale globally next month (2 April) in hardcover, e-book and audio.

Published by Simon & Schuster, the book will chronicle the Aussie actor's 'unconventional journey' to finding success in Hollywood after growing up Down Under.
