Love Island fans furious after huge shakeup to Sunday’s show announced

Love Island fans furious after huge shakeup to Sunday’s show announced

ITV viewers are far from impressed by the major viewing schedule change-up following last night's England victory in the Euros semi-finals

Love Island fans have been left absolutely raging after a huge shakeup to this weekend's viewing schedule was announced earlier today.

Last night (10 July) was pretty exciting given that England absolutely smashed it in the Euros 2024 semi-finals against the Netherlands with a 2-1 victory.

Brits all over are now eagerly counting down the days until Sunday (14 July) with the Three Lions set to take on Spain in the long-awaited finals.

Now, the beloved ITV reality dating show usually screens at 9pm which sees it directly clashing with the final that kicks off an hour beforehand at 8pm.

So, to keep both Love Island and footy fans happy, ITV reportedly will air Love Island 'an hour later' than usual programming.

But, if the match happens to run into extra time and penalties there would still be an overlap.

The Euros final is expected to commence at 6.30pm on ITV and is scheduled to run through until 10.45pm.

The match, however, should be all wrapped up by 10pm if it ends in normal time - finishing just in time to get your latest fix of all the villa chaos.

Upon hearing the news, Love Island fans were far from happy with many taking to Facebook to air out their anger.

One hit out: "Why should we have to wait am not a football fan its unfair."

"Sort it out ITV if u can do it for last nites game u can do it for Sundays game!!!" urged a second.

A third piped up: "Raging."

"Ffs again," slammed a fourth, while a fifth suggested: "Could put on Saturday night instead of best bits."

And a final Facebook user wondered: "I hope they let them watch it in the Villa."

Love Island was also pushed back an hour last night for England's match with the Netherlands and, let's just say, some viewers were far from happy.

One X user hit out: "Love Island is on at 10 today bc of football????? ENGLAND PLEASE #loveisland."

"I beg your finest pardon?! 10pm!" slammed a second, while a third joked: "Bellingham better make this worth my time."

If the Three Lions win against Spain this Sunday (14 July), they will be the first England men’s team to win a major tournament since the 1966 World Cup.

England's women's team - the Lionesses - however came out on top at their last Euros tournament.

Captain Harry Kane recently came under fire for his comments after drawing with Slovenia.

He said: "The bottom line is we haven't won anything as a nation for a long, long time and a lot of these players were part of that as well and they know how tough it is, so it is not digging anyone out."

Some accused Kane of 'sexism' with many pointing to the fact that the Lionesses actually won the last Euros and came second in the World Cup.

ITV have since told Tyla that Love Island will air at 9 PM as usual, followed by After Sun at 10 PM.
