We're only minutes into the brand new series of Love Island, and already, fans have been left cringing after witnessing one of this year's stars make an embarrassing blunder.
The 2024 instalment took to our screens tonight (3 June) after much anticipation, with the dating show taking place in a villa in Mallorca for another year, and of course, the beautiful Maya Jama has been handed the presenting reigns once again.
Among the fresh hoard of twists and turns that ITV producers have put in place this year round, however, was a challenge that featured in the very first episode.

After splitting the group into boys and girls, the Love Island host asked each team to rank the opposite gender on who they thought was 'most like boyfriend and girlfriend material'.
Mimii Ngulube was ranked the top spot, Nicole Samuel came in second, Patsy Field was placed in the middle spot, Jess White came next, followed by Samantha Kenny, with Harriet Blackmore being put last by the boys.
And when it came to the boys, Munveer Jabbal came in No. 1, followed by Sean Stone, Ronnie Vint landed third, Ayo Odukoya was placed in fourth, Sam Taylor landed in fifth and Ciaran Davies was placed at the bottom of the barrel by the girls.
It was then, however, that Maya revealed the group had actually paired themselves up according to their ranking, meaning that runners-up Nicole and Sean would form a couple.

When asked how he feels about the pairing, however, the Essex-born sweet salesman made a rather controversial comment about partner Nicole.
"Early days," he claimed. "She's not my usual type, but... looking forward to opening my ideas up and getting to know her."
Maya then quipped back: "OK, you didn't have to say that, but that's OK..."

"Alright, I may as well walk now," Nicola jokingly added.
And it wasn't just Maya that picked up on Sean's blunder.
"Sean is soo mean for saying that! 'She’s not my usual type'," one viewer tweeted on social media in the minutes that followed.
Another said: "LOL Sean is rude 😭 #LoveIsland."

Last week, producers finally gave viewers a glimpse into this year's Islanders and let's just say, it went down a treat with fans to discover that several of the contestants already had links to the celebrity world.
An example being Munveer, a 30-year-old Recruitment Manager from Surrey. He revealed he's already got a claim to fame, being close pals with Piers Morgan's son Spencer.
And Ronnie, a semi-pro footballer from South East London, has been rubbing shoulders with ex-Love Island star Olivia Attwood for some time now.

It's safe to say, we are very excited about the forthcoming series...
