Viewers of a controversial Netflix dating show have hit out on social media after watching the episodes - and suggest that the wild twist went way too far.
We're all for a jaw-dropping reality series that hooks us in and pushes contestants to their limits.

But one Spanish reality dating show that premiered in 2023 left us wondering whether we actually enjoyed what we just watched due to the messiness of it.
Deep Fake Love, presented Raquel Sánchez-Silva, manipulated contestants with deepfake technology that let people believe their partners had cheated on them.
Deepfake technology refers to an artificial image or video created by Artificial Intelligence - and a lot of the time, they look very real.

The subjects of the divisive show consisted of four heterosexual couples and one male gay couple - and the aim of the game is to test the strength of your relationship.
Divided immediately after arriving into the house, one partner from each couple is placed into another house, along with a swarm of good looking single people.
The individuals who have been left alone to worry are shown footage of their partners flirting with and getting close to other people - which understandably devastates them.
In case you needed more context on what 'getting close' entails... well, there's scenes of 'sensual touching, butt grabbing, ice cube antics, and full-on make outs', as Decider explains.

Host Raquel then tells them that what they can see may or may not have been affected by deepfake technology - and the ultimate test of trust ensues.
And if this show managed to pass you by - you might want to stick it on and make up your own mind regarding whether or not it's an enjoyable watch.
Before you dive in, you may be wondering how on earth a person wins a show like this.

Well, the couple who, as a duo, correctly labels the most scenes as real or fake takes the prize.
Viewers can't believe what they've seen.
One person wrote on X: "Has technology gone too far? Watching Deep Fake Love on Netflix I just can't believe the use of AI to cause this level of emotional trauma to the guest. The idea we have access to technology like this is actually scary because of how much of your reality is real."

Another said: "Netflix’s Deep Fake Love is EVERYTHING."
A third added: "Deep Fake Love on Netflix is one of the most diabolical reality shows ever. Watch candid videos of your spouse hooking up with other people and you have to decide if it’s real or deep faked. I can’t imagine how poorly this is gonna go."
Deep Fake Love is available to stream on Netflix.
