If you were a Disney kid growing up, then you’ll know that High School Musical was the ultimate tween film that brought everything you ever hoped for, but there’s something you totally missed.
Following Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez’s (Vanessa Hudgens) romance in 2006 was the best time ever, and the added musical tunes and flashing dances was simply a bonus.
Everyone was hooked on their dynamic, and wished they also had a love story so simple.

So, when they released the second instalment, High School Musical 2, fans were buzzing.
Set during the high school kid’s summer vacation, we got to see Troy and Gabriella’s love take on new challenges as they navigated their future and pesky meddling from Sharpay and Ryan Evans.
Fans were even treated to catchier songs such as 'Bet On It' and 'I Don’t Dance' (thanks, Corbin Bleu).

But there was a specific scene which fans probably didn’t realise was intended to portray Sharpay in a person’s drink.
That’s right.
Let’s take it back to the pool scene, when Sharpay is singing her hit ‘Fabulous’.
She’s describing all of the high-end brands and treatment she wants to have bestowed on her during her holiday, and how she won’t settle for anything less.

Then, it cuts to a teenager looking inside of his drink with a lime floating in the glass.
Suddenly, Sharpay is in a pool and singing on a float which looks like a lime slice, with ‘ice’ all around her.
Apparently, a lot of people missed this bit and were shocked when they found out.
@90stvshowstweets posted on Instagram: “In High School Musical 2 the ‘Fabulous’ scene is one of the most iconic and memorable moments, perfectly showcasing Sharpay Evans' larger-than-life personality.

“The scene opens at the resort pool, where Sharpay, played by Ashley Tisdale, is ready to take full advantage of her summer in the most glamorous way possible.”
They explained: “At one point, Sharpay finds herself next to a giant, colourful tropical drink. With the extravagant set design, the colours of the drink and the float, and Sharpay's over-the-top outfit, it almost looks like she’s inside the drink.
“This clever visual reinforces her personality as someone who craves luxury and treats herself like royalty. The entire scene plays with themes of excess and high standards—Sharpay’s anthem is all about wanting the best of the best, whether that’s food, clothes, or poolside relaxation.”
Oh, how people were shocked that they were unaware of what the scene meant.

One person said: “Scene makes so much more sense now I thought they just switched to her in the pool for no reason.”
Another wrote: "There are ice floating around her!! It was so creative, peak cinema!”
Someone else said: “Wow no wonder why the water was so blue never even noticed and I watched high school musical so many times lol.”
Apparently, a lot of people did know that she was meant to be in the drink, and were equally as baffled by those who didn’t have a clue.
At least now they’re both on the same page! Sharpay fans unite.
