Ryan Reynolds has perfect response after Jamie Lee Curtis issues apology over film criticism

Deadpool frontman Ryan Reynolds issued an iconic quip in response to fellow actor Jamie Lee Curtis' apology tweet

In recent years, Hollywood veteran Jamie Lee Curtis has made some rather controversial comments about the recent additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

And this week, Deadpool & Wolverine frontman Ryan Reynolds has issued a response to the Oscar-winning superstar's remarks, which will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the most iconic social media interactions of all time.

To fill you in on the silver-screen scandal, 65-year-old Curtis has always insisted she's not a 'hater' of the superhero franchise, but says she simply can't get her head around how much money is poured into producing MCU movies.

Especially, since the last few films have sort of bombed when it comes to box office ratings... sorry, not sorry.

Anyway, Curtis' rant about the star-studded series first kicked off back in 2022, when she was discussing the success of her own self-fronted movie, Everything Everywhere All At Once, which bagged a Best Picture Academy Award that year.

Following Marvel's release of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, she wrote on Twitter: "Is it JUST me? Does it seem STRANGE that our tiny movie that could and did and continues to do ##1movieinamerica and is TRULY MARVELOUS, out marvels any Marvel movie they put out there @everythingeverywheremovie has a Marvel movie coming out with a copycat poster? Is this one of those Internet feuds?"

Let's just say, it didn't take a genius to see which Benedict Cumberbatch blockbuster she was throwing shade at.

Around the same time, she told press: "[Everything Everywhere All at Once] cost less than the entire craft service budget on Doctor Strange and/or any other Marvel movie."

Later, speaking to People on the matter, Curtis added: "I have nothing against Marvel as an entity … What I was trying to talk about was it doesn’t have to be a Marvel movie in order to be a spectacle and to really move you."

And this week, the Halloween actress had one, pretty savage description of the entire MCU franchise, when asked about its success status at the moment, by responding with, 'Bad'.

After being slammed by fans for her statement, the mother-of-two apologised in a tweet, claiming she 'will no longer play in that mud-slinging sandbox of competition we call the internet'.

And having caught wind of Curtis' brutal remark, you'd expect Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds to have a bone to pick with his fellow acting star.

Instead, however, the much-loved funnyman, 47, took the opportunity to rip into himself as well as the Marvel series, with a hilarious tweet.

Quoting his big-name pal's apology, he wrote over it, 'Wait, is everyone expected to apologize for slamming Marvel post-Endgame?', as if he also has some pretty harsh words about recent additions to the already-lengthy franchise.

Come on then, Reynolds, out with it!
