You'd imagine that for the Culkin family, sitting around and watching Home Alone would have remained an unmoving tradition ever since brothers Macaulay and Kieran appeared in the 1990 festive flick.
Apparently, however, the latter of the two refuses to even let his own children watch it.
If you blink while watching Home Alone, you might miss Kieran Culkin.

While his big brother Macaulay played mischievous lead Kevin McCallister who is accidentally left at home while his family jet off for the holiday season, Kieran took on the tiny role of his bed-wetting cousin, Fuller.
Remember when the family are all sat around the dinner table at the beginning of the film, and a glasses-wearing youngster is sipping Pepsi all night, before getting squashed between a chair and a wall when Kevin causes a major spillage? Well, that's Kieran.
The role of Kevin served as Macaulay's breakout role, after which he went on to appear in the sequel Lost In New York, as well as the likes of My Girl and Ritchie Rich, and he's been considered by many as one of the most successful child actors in history.

For Kieran, on the other hand, it would take years for his acting talent to be recognised, with his 2018 Succession role as entitled Chief Operations Officer, Roman Roy, gaining him a Golden Globe, an Emmy and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
That said, however, the 42-year-old still credits his first Christmas role as having taught him a lesson about fame, previously telling press his brother Macaulay struggled after being sky-rocketed into the spotlight.
"Even at that time, as a kid, I remember thinking, 'That sucks for him'," he joked last year. "Poor f**king guy. He was little and having to try to accept that level of fame as reality."
And discussing Home Alone with E! News this week, father-of-two Kieran made an unexpected confession about his own children's relationship with the film, revealing he hasn't yet allowed them to watch it.

The actor - who shares daughter Kinsey, five, and son, Wilder, three, with wife Jazz Charlton - declared the film inappropriate for such young viewers, explaining: "There’s still some scary parts.
"For the three-year-old, there’s the tarantula [and] there’s the guy at the end who said, ‘I’m gonna bite off all your fingers'.
"That’s scary for a three-year-old."

He went on to admit, however, that he might allow his kids a look this time around.
"We think they might be ready for Home Alone this year,” he joked. "If not, next year."
Kieran's impression of the movie is worlds away from his brother's, with Macaulay, 44, telling Entertainment Tonight last year that he'd already shown his breakthrough film to his own son.

Macaulay shares his three-year-old little boy Dakota - as well as another son named Carson, born sometime in December last year - with former The Suite Life of Zack and Cody star Brenda Song, with the pair meeting after both being cast in 2019 comedy-drama Changeland.
"I already showed it to him last year, he thinks it's so funny," he told the publication.
"I convinced my oldest that he's the kid in the movie. I said, 'Remember you had yellow hair? Remember when you were getting the bad guys?'.
"He's like, ‘Yeah!’ He is such a liar. I'm like, 'You don't remember any of that'."
