A brand new series of the beloved Channel 4 reality dating show Married at First Sight is landing tonight - but it seems drama proceeds one contestant's opening scenes.
Alex Henry, one of the hopeful singles who potentially meets the love of his life a the altar in the forthcoming MAFS series, was an RAF airman based at RAF Spadeadam in Cumbria.
It has now transpired that after having a request to film the show denied, he left and took part in filming anyway - which resulted in a prison sentence.
Upon return from filming, Henry was seized by military police and sentenced to 34 days behind bars.

The 28-year-old budding reality star served 24, and was then sacked upon release.
He applied for extra leave after being cast in MAFS but was told no - something Henry was clearly unwilling to accept.
The Brummie up and left regardless and filmed the show, then dealt with the consequences later.
A spokesperson for Henry told The Sun: "He returned after filming of his own volition and handed himself into the military authorities.

One teaser showed 28-year-old mechanic named Kieran popping in a set of false, rotting teeth while waiting for his soon to be wife at the altar.
In the clip, Kieran theorised: "This could really end up bad. I just want to know if this girl's fun."
It actually started off quite well, with bride Kristina bursting into laughter.
But while reflecting on the moment in a confessional, she said: "These teeth. What the f**k?"

It's a fair reaction.
Body language expert Darren Stanton weighed in on the dynamic between the pair and what we can expect.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots, he said: "He was sweating, looked visibly tense, and had all the classic signs of worry written across his face.

"His eyebrows were together, his forehead was crinkled and he was sweating a lot.
"When his bride Kristina came in, she started laughing in his direction, and I think she actually got the joke straight away."
He explained where things started to go awry, adding: "When Kieran said, ‘what are you laughing at?’ that turned into horror, and shock as she must have thought she’d put her foot in it."
Married at First Sight begins tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
