Nicole Kidman’s sex scenes in new movie so powerful she ‘didn’t want to orgasm anymore’

Kidman stars alongside Harris Dickinson in the erotic thriller

Nicole Kidman has said that there were times she 'didn't want to orgasm anymore' while filming her upcoming movie.

Kidman stars alongside Harris Dickinson in the erotic thriller, Babygirl, which was written and directed by Halina Reijn.

In the movie - which is set for release in the UK later this year - Kidman plays Romy, a high-ranking CEO and married mother who embarks on a torrid love affair with the much younger Samuel - who is her intern.

Kidman has previously spoken about the movie, explaining it was the most 'exposing' film she has ever made.

Talking to Vanity Fair, she said: "I’ve made some films that are pretty exposing, but not like this.

"This leaves me exposed and vulnerable and frightened when it’s given to the world. I was like, ‘I hope my hand’s not shaking’.

"It’s like, ‘Golly, I’m doing this, and it’s going to be seen by the world’. That’s a very weird feeling. This is something you do and hide in your home videos.

“It is not a thing that normally is going to be seen by the world. I felt very exposed as an actor, as a woman, as a human.”

She also explained that during the intimate scenes, she almost felt 'burnt out'.

"There was an enormous amount of sharing and trust and then frustration," she told The Sun.

“It’s like, ‘Don’t touch me’. There were times when we were shooting where I was like, ‘I don’t want to orgasm any more'.

“Don’t come near me. I hate doing this. I don’t care if I am never touched again in my life!

“I’m over it. It was so present all the time for me that it was almost like a burnout.”

Kidman also spoke about the importance of the dynamics on set, explaining at a press conference: “I’m a huge believer still in the sacredness of the set or the actors’ space and it never being violated.

“It’s ours, it’s the bubble, and then there’s the world outside.”

Meanwhile, Dickinson praised the work of intimacy co-ordinator Lizzy Talbot, adding: “She was important for the film and broke the unnecessary barrier and conversation around what you have to do.

“Ultimately it’s choreography; when you get into the nitty-gritty of those kind of scenes, you have to be very precise with it and she’s very good at getting straight into it on a pragmatic basis.”

Babygirl premieres in UK cinemas on 10 January, 2025.
