Tammy Slaton is opening up about why she feels ‘even more insecurities’ following her significant weight loss journey.
The 38-year-old reality TV star has regularly kept viewers in the know about losing weight, including a 14-month stay in a weight loss rehab facility and bariatric surgery in July 2022, which has since seen her shed an incredible 500-lb.
As the new season of 1000-lb sisters edges closer, Tammy is reflecting on her journey so far - but acknowledged it has come with an added insecurity.

"I’ve come so far on my weight loss journey," she said. "But now I have even more insecurities about my body because I have so much loose skin."
In the finale for the previous season, which aired in December, Tammy admitted she was ‘p*ssed’ because there had been a delay in her getting skin removal surgery.
"I just want to be able to walk around better without losing balance," she told her doctor.

In a separate interview, she said: "It’s hard to walk because of the skin. I walk like a daggone penguin. My belly goes this way and I’m going that way."
The reason behind the delay was due to her vaping habit, which could impact her recovery.
"I’ve been waiting to hear that I can get my skin removal for so long," she later added. "When I get rid of the skin, I’m going to be a brand-new me. Bette. I’m going to become a model and walk the catwalk."
She now no longer needs a wheelchair to help her get around, and in recent episodes, it was revealed she now weighs 303.8 lbs, a change she described as 'unbelievable'.

In a confessional shared with the camera crew, Tammy said: "Now that I've lost so much weight, I'm able to do things that I never would have been able to do.

"I think people do take the small things for granted. Being able to cross your legs and put your shoes on... I'm able to sit comfortably on the toilet, I've never been able to do that."
She went on to add: "The only problem is this excess skin is out of control."

A member of the camera crew then asked how much excess skin she has, to which Tammy retorted: "Too damn much!"
She continued: "I get rashes under my stomach and that can get infected. And even though my mobility has gotten better, I kind of have to walk a little bow-legged because it's dangling right there,' before pointing to a space between her legs."
Slaton once weighed 725 lbs and has had her weight loss documented on the show alongside her sister, Amy Slaton.
Fans won't have to wait long for the new season, either! Episodes return 15 April on TLC.
